Last weekend the BRCA Nats was held at the track I most wanted to race this year - Cotswold. Alex Thurston and family was there to sharpen his ever improving skills as a driver while Kyle Branson was there to close out the 2009 BRCA Nationals Championship. So what happened?

On sunday I had to work hard as there were extra racers with us this weekend, Mark Green, John Zotti and our new boy was none other than Elliot Boots who came to have a go. The weather was sunny all weekend but a little bit windy when you were up on the rostrum as myself and Neil King found out in qualifying when both of us could'nt see because of wind bite and ended up binning the cars on the corner going onto the straight. Well I was a bit sad because I qualified in 11th place and just missed the A final so started on the front of the B final with Simon Wood and Paul Knapton behind me. Scary eh?
Didn't get a great start and Simon was off like a rocket so I had to keep chasing him down, with Paul snapping at my heels. Paul got by and I was jousled about a bit with other drivers but continued. Unfortunatley Paul had engine problems and I got by but he had to retire later on. So now I'm in about 6th place and having to work my way through again. Finally got up into 2nd place but Simon was already a lap in front but the race was not over as Simon decided to hit the pit wall and break his car leaving me to just stay on the track and make up the lap and come home 1st. Great race though with the lads and I really enjoyed it!
Final results:-
1st Kyle Branson
2nd Jonathon Dobney
3rd Chris Slater
1st Alex Thurston
2nd Stuart Wilcox
3rd Mathew Cooke
1st Peter Spratley
2nd Mark Brown
3rd Les Mainwaring
Alex Thurston - until Halifax, where the Irish boys will join us!
..........................................................................TQ, Winner and Runner-up on UK Debut for the Serpent 733
Last weekend was the penultimate round of the 200mm British National Series held at the very technical Cotswold racetrack. Saturday was a practice day and the weather was ideal for testing the new 733. Mark Green was on hand to help the drivers getting to grips with their new cars. By the end of practice all of the drivers were very happy with the handling and balance of the 733.

Sunday - TQ was a battle between Kyle Branson and Mark Green with Mark taking the honours in round 4 and Neil King making up the top 3 (All Serpent 733’s).
Main Final - 5 of the top 10 drivers were running the 733. Mark got off to an excellent start with Kyle behind him. Unfortunately Mark was the victim of a accident on the short straight which launched his car nearly 2 meters into the air and resulted in him retiring from the final. After 30 minutes Kyle Branson was the winner with the very in-form Johnathan Dobney in second place.
This was a very good debut for the new 733, no parts failures throughout the weekend and an excellent result on the track. The final round of this years 200mm British National Championships will be held at Halifax on 3-4 October.
