I was just a bit bored today and surfing a bit when I found this old but interesting article because it reminded me old days gone by when I was totally addicted to the "Wipeout" game on my old PS1.
A german chap, Malte Jehmlich, who created an interactive video game installation featuring a racing arcade, rc cars and a lot of cardboard taped and stapled together.

Borrowing the title from a very popular motor TV show, I see the same issue with our hobby/sport - there just isn't enough gender diversity in it which probably explains why it is just not picking up half the steam that it could. Don't get me wrong, mums, girfriends, daughters and tea-hut personnel are represented but on the drivers' stand they are rare.
If we don't have the other half of the world's population interested then we're left with the testosterone half that has a tiny role at home (or at work) that wants to massage their egos on the track with tiny cars. Anyway, I love the Top Gear show on TV and this article had me asking myself why is it that we don't have Labour Deputy Leader Harriet Harman hassling our hobby/sport for gender diverisity too.
